Skiing at Jack Frost! I love skiing. Had a great time. Funny story though... It had been a long time since Matt or I had been skiing so we decided to start out with trying a few of the bunny slopes, you know, get our mountain legs back. Things were going well, we did a bunny slope, both made it down without falling, and made our way up the ski lift without losing any poles or getting knocked down by the ski lift basket. So we are feeling pretty good and decide to go for the next bunny slope, Frosty was its name. So we head down and as we near the bottom of the bunny slope I notice that a blue rectangle "more difficult" slope is beginning... and it doesn't appear that Matt is stopping. Then all of a sudden he is gone, flying down the blue rectangle. We both arrived at the bottom safe and sound -- he just didn't notice that the slope had changed and kept on going, he just thought it was a really long bunny slope. The rest of the day went well. We had lots of fun. I did get run down by a snowboarder at one point but it was near the end of the day and I was tired already so we put in a few more runs before calling it quits.

Day 59
So it's Friday and I went to Happy Hour with Cindy, Tamara, and Jonathan and we are just sitting there enjoying the wonderfully old atmosphere of Barrister's on this particular Friday (there was some older group there with wristbands having an event) when this blond haired girl sits down, orders a beer, and takes out her binder to look at. Now this isn't the strange part, I have been known to take my GRE flashcards to Barrister's for a drink and snack in the past. What was interesting was that this man walked up, you see him there in the picture, and he said no more than 2 sentences to this girl. She doesn't look up or acknowledge him, or even say anything for that matter but becomes visibly upset, or mad, and begins to pack up her things. The guy then starts apologizing. She still doesn't acknowledge that he's there. He tells Joe the bartender that he'll buy her a round, she tells Joe no thanks. He leaves feeling obviously bad. And then she leaves. Now here is my question... what could he have said in two sentences that would upset her so?

Day 58
more views of the 'burbs... this is the establishment Nifty Fifties. The serve filet mignon. I hope that Guy from triple D stops by here one day, it looks like it would be up his alley. Speaking of... why doesn't he stop in Philadelphia more often? Don't we have culinary delights to please his palate?

Day 49
People in South Philadelphia really get into window decorating... case in point.
Since moving into our new house we have decorated for Halloween, Christmas, and we currently have a Flyers jersey up to root for the home team. We have missed autumn, Valentine's Day, and I sense we will also be missing St. Patrick's Day.

Day 43
I made homemade lasagna, inspired by an epidsode of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives! I got the noodles fresh from Nino's Fresh Pasta down the street, made up my own recipe for the meat sauce and blend of cheeses, and it came out pretty swell for a first attempt. I also learned some valuable things and will make it even better next time.
